Job Summary

We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated caregiver for a 32-year-old male in Vernonia looking for help Wed through Friday 12-5, 15 hours a week. He is very nice and would like help with eating healthier and exercise more often to stay healthy, working on getting his drivers license, getting out into the community and assistance with ADL's such as Housework, Meal Preparation, Money Management, and Light Shopping. He is looking for a DSP who is patient, experienced, is ok being very active and outdoorsy, has a reliable car that can drive him around in the community and long distances since he lives far from where he usually likes to go , someone skilled in math is a plus but not necessary, and a person whom he can talk to about things and help him to deal with life situations. There is vaping outside the home and a small dog.

Duties

Assist individuals with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management. Provide support to individuals with developmental disabilities and those experiencing dementia, ensuring their unique needs are met. Foster a positive environment by encouraging social interactions and participation in community activities. Maintain documentation of care provided, adhering to HIPAA regulations and resident rights. Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and other staff to develop and implement individualized care plans. Monitor and report any changes in residents' physical or emotional conditions to the appropriate personnel. Engage residents in meaningful activities that promote cognitive function and emotional well-being.

Qualifications

Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in a group home setting is preferred. Knowledge of dementia care practices is an asset. Familiarity with resident rights and HIPAA regulations is essential. Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients. Compassionate nature with a commitment to providing high-quality care. Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also demonstrating initiative when needed. Previous experience as a nurse or in a healthcare-related field is a plus but not required.
