The Parts Manager is responsible for running a profitable and efficient parts department. This position is responsible for accomplishing objectives through the use of proper purchasing procedures, inventory control, staff utilization, security, pricing, merchandising, displaying, and advertising, while contributing to an amazing customer experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Customers:
Creates and drives a culture of exceptional customer experience and sets a clear vision and goals to the Parts Team to drive customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Handles customer complaints immediately and according to dealership's guidelines.
Establishes and maintains excellent working relationships with customers to encourage repeat and referral business.
Ensures that all customers are greeted and attended to promptly.
Ensures the customer facing areas are retail-ready with proper displays and point-of-purchase information.
Partners:
Establishes and maintains good working relationships with Brand Partners ensuring compliance on all aspects of operation to include manufacturer warranty and policy procedures.
Works alongside Service and Bodyshop Departments, on achieving highest distinction of Toyota's CDEA - Customer Delight Excellence Award.
Works on BMW business plan and strives to exceed targets set.
Works with Aftersales Director and Human Resources Director to establish and maintain good working relationships with vocational and technical schools to enhance personnel recruitment activities.
Performance:
Forecasts goals and objectives for the department and strives to meet or targeted performance.
Identifies, analyzes and maintains parts selections and inventory that meets demand.
Analyzes and determines any shortfalls and develops action plans to improve performance.
Manages the business in accordance with Inchcape, AK, and manufacturer requirements and processes.
Drives the business through a high-level of involvement in the day-to-day operations and track the daily gross sales of parts department.
Oversees reconciliation of shortages and/or damages.
Oversees reconciliation of parts warranty return reports.
Oversees analysis, scrap and reconciliation of obsolescence process.
Compiles and analyzes monthly management reports.
Maintains controls of operating department cost and budget.
Maintains tight control over parts inventory.
Develops and coordinates a marketing plan which promotes new and repeat business.
Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal and local regulations that affect parts operations such as OSHA Right-Know, etc.
Ensures work areas and customer waiting areas are kept safe, clean and orderly.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
+ Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Operations Management, or a related field; equivalent work experience considered.
Experience
+ Minimum of 5 years' management experience in logistics, operations management, or automotive industry
+ Demonstrated proficiency in leadership, team building, communication, and customer service.
+ Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Licensure
+ Valid Guam Driver's License
