The primary duties and responsibilities of the Outside Parts Salesperson are to fulfill customer parts needs in the most efficient and accurate manner by:
Responding to customer parts or information requests quickly
Develop business relationships with all customers
Develop game plan for prospecting a designated territory
Communicating internally with parts department and externally with customers
Monitoring the status of customer orders, advising in case of problems and notifying upon arrival
Assisting other Parts Department employees with above tasks as necessary
Organization and maintenance of the customer accounts, including pricing and application materials
Qualifications
The Outside Parts Salesperson position is a vital member of the Parts Department Team, one who has a direct impact on parts sales and customer satisfaction. Accordingly, specific personal qualities and abilities are required for successful performance in this position, including:
+ Appreciation for teamwork & sincere desire to contribute as a team member
+ Excellent communication skills, including an awareness of others & effective listening ability
+ Customer appreciation, a desire to satisfy customers & the ability to instill customer confidence
+ A commitment to customer satisfaction by addressing potential issues proactively
+ Multi-tasking ability, especially in dealing with interruptions and quick acknowledgements.
Preferred but not Required
+ College degree
+ Truck Parts Sales &/or Parts Counter experience
+ Mechanical aptitude or experience in automotive &/or truck mechanics
+ Parts department experience, particularly in a truck dealership or truck aftermarket environment
+ An ability to recognize opportunities for process & operational improvement
