Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Part-Time Seamstress to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience using various sewing machines to complete alterations and repairs to garments, and will have a passion for delivering high-quality workmanship. This role offers a flexible schedule, making it perfect for individuals seeking part-time employment.

Uniform Outfitters has a Full-Time Head Seamstress on-site who will be responsible for assessing the skills of our new Part-Time Seamstress, and passing on appropriate work from the alterations department. Our Head Seamstress will share knowledge and supply on-the-job training when necessary.

Key responsibilities include :

Sewing patches on shirts and outerwear. Hemming pants. Performing small garment repairs. Trimming complete embroidery work. Learning to comfortably use the company sewing machines, along with any hand-stitching techniques required. Collaborating with other team members to meet customer needs and reach customer satisfaction. Advising clients on alterations possibilities. Providing quality-control by confirming all garments that leave the alterations department are altered appropriately and that quality is up to standard. Maintaining a clean and organized workspace and ensure equipment is properly cared for. Assisting with responsibilities of the alterations department.
Experienced seamstress tasks include:

Measuring and performing professional-grade tailoring to garments. Replace zippers, buttons, linings, and other garment components as needed. Working with our embroidery machine.
Starting pay will be based on skills, experience, and work quality.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $12.00 - $13.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8 - 30 per week
