Duties

Develop and implement engaging curriculum plans tailored to preschool-aged children, incorporating elements of literacy education, math, physical education, and Montessori methods where applicable. Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment that encourages curiosity and active participation among children. Manage daily classroom activities, ensuring smooth transitions and effective behavior management strategies to promote positive social interactions. Conduct assessments of children's developmental progress through observations and standardized testing when appropriate; use findings to adapt lesson plans and support individual learning needs. Support children with special education needs or those requiring early intervention services by applying appropriate instructional strategies and collaborating with specialists. Maintain open communication with parents and guardians regarding children's progress, behavior, and developmental milestones through regular updates and meetings. Ensure compliance with childcare regulations, health standards, and safety protocols at all times. Prepare educational materials, lesson plans, and activities that align with curriculum standards and promote holistic childhood development. Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities related to childhood education, classroom management, and childcare best practices.

Skills

Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education methodologies such as Montessori or preschool curricula. Experience working with children in daycare or preschool settings; familiarity with toddler care is a plus. Proficiency in curriculum development, lesson planning, classroom management, and behavior management techniques. Ability to work effectively with children of diverse backgrounds and needs, including those requiring special education or early intervention services. Excellent communication skills for engaging with parents, colleagues, and children alike. Experience with literacy education strategies, math instruction, teaching physical education, and implementing standardized testing when necessary. Knowledge of child welfare practices ensuring the safety and well-being of all students in the classroom environment. Familiarity with classroom experience in private schools or daycare centers is advantageous. Ability to adapt teaching approaches for different age groups within the preschool spectrum (including toddlers).
