Schedule/Hours: Monday, Tuesday, & Wednesday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm






PURPOSE





HOWCO, Inc. is a Charlotte-based corporation established in 1969 to collaborate with car wash operators and developers. Utilizing the latest equipment and processes, HOWCO employees aid in sales, project planning, installations, parts, chemicals, and service in the Southeast & Mid-Atlantic areas. HOWCO has expertise in car wash tunnels, in-bay automatic equipment, and self-service car washes.






SUMMARY





In this warehouse position, the Order Puller & Processing team members are responsible for safely moving inventory into and out of the warehouse facility. They assist in performing location verifications and physical counts of inventory. Responsibilities include safely operating materials and handling equipment to store and track the movement of parts, supplies, chemicals, & other materials.



JOB PREVIEW





As a member of the Warehouse Order Puller and Processing Team, you will perform work as a material handler. You will be responsible for the fulfillment of customer orders, warehouse material stocking, packing, shipping, and preparation of bills of lading. Materials Handlers receive and log goods into the warehouse from shipping companies. Verifying deliveries for product quality and the physical count of each shipment into the warehouse against the packing slip and the purchase order (or Returned Goods Authorization (RGA)) is critical for this role. Materials Handler's daily tasks involve picking orders, receiving goods, and shipping orders according to established practices and warehouse procedures. Tasks include stocking shelves, inventory counting, and general housekeeping duties. Materials Handlers ensure assigned operations run smoothly and any issues are reported to the Warehouse Manager immediately. Training and cross-training are essential components for success in this position. The Warehouse Order, Processing team members assist in creating a positive atmosphere within the company and performing all duties as requested.




KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES





There are several responsibilities, including warehouse services, customer service, shipping and receiving, and a teamwork attitude.




Warehouse Services




Retrieves supplies, chemicals, parts, and components to fulfill orders, as required via pick ticket, Maintains knowledge of inventory and locations of items within the warehouse. Loads and unloads materials within the warehouse. Ensures that materials (chemicals, supplies, and parts) are accounted for by completing appropriate recordkeeping. Focuses on quality service. Minimizes errors and re-work by focusing on details, checking results, and ensuring accuracy. Follows safety and security guidelines and sets a safe work example for others. Utilizes PPE equipment provided. Maintains the worksite by leaving it clean, neat, and organized. Participates in re-set projects with other team members, as requested. Utilizes hand trucks or forklifts, as needed, to move materials. Assists in maintaining min/max levels of inventory.



Customer Service




Maintains good working relationships with internal and external customers. Ensures the customer is cared for by focusing on timeliness, organization, service, and follow-up. Documents correspondence and information collected through any interaction with the customer. Fulfills the customer needs to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and retention of the customer relationship.



Shipping and Receiving




Participates in moving freight, stock, and other materials from storage to preparation area. Packaging and labeling items and transporting them to loading docks. Ensures the accuracy of shipping address. Sorts cargo before loading and unloading. Maintains inventory of materials needed to perform anticipated shipping tasks.



Teamwork




Contributes to a positive teamwork environment focused on a common goal. Participates in team meetings. Assists with training new team members, as requested. Takes initiative to be on time, follow through on assigned tasks, and focus on quality and accuracy. Participates in monthly, quarterly, and annual inventory projects.



Other




Performs other duties as required or requested. Maintains confidentiality of sensitive Company, employee, and customer data without exception. Acts upon critical issues immediately within the position's authority and asks for assistance/decision-making from the supervisor. Suggests ways to do assigned tasks more efficiently and effectively.

Knowledge and Education




High school graduation or equivalent, required. Some college or technical training is preferred. Knowledge of similar-size warehouse operations preferred. Knowledge of warehouse operations, concepts, practices, and procedures, preferred. Some knowledge of car wash equipment and operations, a plus.




Experience




Some experience in warehouse operations and customer service, a plus. Some business-related work experience is required.




Abilities




Ability to use experience and judgment to plan and accomplish daily tasks and goals. Ability to collaborate with others. Ability to participate in continuous improvement and warehouse organization projects. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to strictly adhere to safety guidelines.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:




Standing/ Walking - moderate to high level. 90% Sitting - 10% low to moderate level. Standing work surface is provided. Lifting - up to 50 lbs. Visual Acuity - excellent vision required. Environment - warehouse, hot and cold temperatures.



OTHER:




Must be willing to undergo a background check and a Motor Vehicle Report in accordance with local laws/regulations. HOWCO requires candidates to be at least 18 years of age or older and that they possess and maintain a valid driver's license. HOWCO requires a professional, safe, and neat appearance. Tattoos may not be visible at any time while wearing appropriate attire. HOWCO is a drug-free workplace; all candidates must pass a pre-employment drug screening.
