Job Overview


We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Part Time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our healthcare team. This role involves providing high-quality patient care across various settings, including long-term care, assisted living, and acute care environments. The ideal candidate will have experience working with diverse patient populations, including seniors, individuals with developmental disabilities, and those requiring specialized care such as Alzheimer's or memory care. The LPN will support clinical operations by performing assessments, administering treatments, and ensuring compliance with healthcare standards using EMR/EHR systems. Duties



Conduct patient assessments including vital signs, physical examinations, and health histories Administer medications and injections accurately following physician orders Perform IV infusions, catheterizations, and sterile procedures with proper aseptic technique Assist with complex procedures such as wound suturing, spinal taps, or cardiac catheterizations when necessary Manage airway and ventilator support for critical patients in acute or ICU settings Document all patient interactions thoroughly using EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth Provide patient education on medication management, nutrition, and disease processes such as dementia or infectious diseases Support discharge planning and coordinate with interdisciplinary teams for post-acute or home care services Ensure infection control protocols are strictly followed to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals in urgent care, emergency medicine, or hospital settings

Skills



Proven experience with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth; proficiency in ICD-9/10 coding is preferred Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, and medical terminology Experience working in diverse healthcare environments including ICU, emergency room, hospice, or long-term care facilities Skilled in patient assessment techniques including vital signs measurement and diagnostic evaluation Ability to perform phlebotomy, venipuncture, specimen collection/processing, and medication administration Familiarity with specialized procedures such as tube feeding, catheter care, or oxygen therapy Excellent communication skills for patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of patient information Ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of patient safety and quality care
