Part-Time Cleaner / Day Porter

Job Overview-

We are seeking a

dedicated and detail-oriented Part-Time Commercial Day Porter

to join our team. The Day Porter will play a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and order within our commercial facilities located between

Westminster and Sykesville, Maryland.

This position involves a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks, ensuring a professional and welcoming environment for employees and visitors.

This is a

part-time position

with flexible hours. Previous experience in commercial cleaning or facilities maintenance is preferred but not required; we are willing to train the right candidate who demonstrates reliability and a strong work ethic.

Key Responsibilities:

Routine Cleaning & Sanitation:

Perform daily cleaning and sanitization tasks in assigned commercial areas, including offices, lobbies, break rooms, restrooms, hallways, stairwells, and common areas.

Restroom Maintenance:

Carry out custodial duties, including deep cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, restocking paper products and soap dispensers, and ensuring a sanitary environment.

Trash Management:

Collect and dispose of trash, recycling, and waste from all designated bins.

Floor Care:

Conduct light floor care activities such as sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping hard surface floors.

High-Touch Point Focus:

Monitor and maintain cleanliness in high-traffic and high-touch areas (e.g., door handles, light switches, water fountains) throughout the shift.

Inventory & Reporting:

Monitor cleaning supply levels and communicate needs to the supervisor. Report any necessary maintenance issues, equipment malfunctions, or safety hazards promptly.

Special Tasks:

Assist with periodic deep cleaning, window cleaning, and industrial cleaning tasks as needed to support overall facility maintenance efforts.

Qualifications & Requirements

Transportation:

Must possess

dependable and reliable personal transportation

to travel to and from various commercial facilities located between

Westminster and Sykesville, MD.

A valid driver's license and clean driving record may be required.

Physical Ability:

Must be physically capable of performing manual labor, including standing, walking, bending, and reaching for extended periods, and lifting up to

50 pounds

as necessary.

Work Ethic:

Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness consistently.

Independence:

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks efficiently.

Communication:

Basic verbal communication skills to interact with supervisors and report issues.
