Animal Caregiver
Part-time Animal Caregiver: 12-16 hours per week.

PEAK Animal Sanctuary is a haven for farmed animals that inspires community and advocates
for a peaceful coexistence among all species located in Freedom, Indiana. The Animal
Caregiver position is a wonderful opportunity to join our grassroots movement, build an
amazing sanctuary, and make a difference for the most abused animals on the planet - farmed
animals. This is a challenging job involving heavy physical labor in all weather conditions.
Additionally, it can be emotionally challenging at times as many of our residents are seniors,
experiencing health issues. But it's also incredibly rewarding to support, connect with, and care
for our wonderful residents. The Animal Caretaker position requires working weekends,
evenings, and holidays.
The Animal Caregiver will be responsible for all aspects of daily animal care including:
? Providing food and water for residents
? Cleaning
? Following veterinary care treatment plans
? Administering medications
? Participating in hoof trimming, grooming, and similar care
? Maintaining grounds and pastures
? Learning to use and properly care for all tools and equipment
? Working with volunteers and interns
? Documenting and updating resident records
? Other tasks as needed
Possibly other administrative tasks like data entry, placing online orders for animal needs,
etc. Assisting with taking sick animals to the vet and picking up animal prescriptions. Other
tasks as time permits and as needed
The Ideal team member is:
? Compassionate and committed to carrying out PEAK's mission, vision, and values
? Experienced in caring for rescued animals. Experience with rescued farm animals is a
plus
? Able to understand and follow oral and written directions.
? Extremely observant; able to notice and communicate subtle changes in an animal's
appearance and behavior
? Able to work in a team in a busy and ever-changing environment
? Calm under pressure
? A self-starter and highly motivated
? Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
? Able to lift 50 lbs
? Must be 18 years old to apply
? Communicates openly and honestly

This role reports to the Director of Sanctuary Operations.
Additionally, the candidate must have a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and
pass a criminal background check.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $13.00 - $16.00 per hour
