GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Parole Board Coordinator manages and coordinates all Parole Board hearings, ensuring smooth operations and compliance with regulations. Responsibilities include scheduling hearings, maintaining databases, and collaborating with state institutions, DOC staff, and victim services. The role also involves managing unsupervised parolee status, providing essential reports, and supporting the Board's strategic goals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function that may be performed in the job level.

  • Manages and coordinates Parole Board hearings; establishes yearly parole hearing calendar; generates and updates eligible parolee master list; collects and disseminates pertinent information for the Board of Parole members; coordinates and arranges all board and board staff travel for parole hearings; coordinates with DOC state institutions and Adult Community Corrections Centers for scheduling of Parole Board hearings and coordinates with the Board's Victim Services Coordinator.
  • Maintain databases; prepare and maintain important reports; maintain proficiency in DOC databases (WCIS, ML, and Monitor); liaisons with DOC IT Staff for said databases; maintain common drive internal databases to include document updates, inmate/parolee movement, disciplines, and discharges, and maintain electronic/audio documents of parole board hearings.
  • Manages unsupervised parolees, which include receiving and assessing DOC requests for unsupervised parole status, scheduling special hearings before the Board, and following established procedures for parolee reporting.
  • Provides services to assist with the Strategic Plan of the Board of Parole by maintaining an understanding of all policies, procedures, and performance measures to assist the Board in ensuring that the Strategic Plan is focused and up to date.
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE:
  • Knowledge of legal concepts, terminology, principles, and procedures
  • Knowledge of state and federal court policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of Wyoming Statutes and Agency mission goals, policies, and procedures
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Bachelor's Degree (Typically in Legal Studies/Paralegal)
Experience:
0-1 year of progressive work experience in (Legal Studies/Paralegal)
OR
Education & Experience Substitution:
3-4 years of progressive work experience in (Legal Studies/Paralegal)

  • FLSA: Non-Exempt
  • This position will travel around 26 weeks of the year.
