POSITION SUMMARY




Modern Government Solutions (MGS) is seeking a Pararescue Instructor Site Lead who will oversee all contractor instructional personnel and training operations for the Air Force Special Warfare program at Kirtland AFB, NM. The Site Lead will provide direct instruction to Pararescue (PJ) and Combat Rescue Officer (CRO) students, ensuring all training meets AETC and Special Warfare standards. This role combines expert-level instruction, hands-on mission training, and leadership oversight to maintain the highest levels of readiness, safety, and performance across all phases of Pararescue qualification training.

RESPONSIBILITIES (not limited to):



InstructionTraining

+ Conduct technical qualification training for Pararescue (PJ) and Combat Rescue Officer (CRO) students.
+ Deliver instruction across mission areas including Airborne Operations, AIE methods (SPIES/FRIES/Fast Rope), Rope Rescue, Small Unit Tactics, CQB, Land Navigation, Personnel Recovery, Tactical Medicine, and Full Mission Profiles.
+ Identify training needs, develop training aids, and apply effective instructional methods.
+ Evaluate student performance, document progress, and implement corrective actions.
+ Ensure all instruction aligns with AETC directives and Special Warfare training standards.

SafetyOperations

+ Handle and instruct on munitions, small arms, and tactical equipment in accordance with safety protocols.
+ Operate government and tactical vehicles during training activities.

LeadershipSite Management

+ Supervise and mentor contractor instructional staff.
+ Manage schedules, task assignments, and performance evaluations.
+ Serve as the primary liaison between contractor staff and government leadership.
+ Foster a safe, professional, and compliant training environment.
+ Oversee instructor utilization and operational readiness.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS



Must be eligible to obtain and maintain an active Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance.

Prior Pararescue (AFSC 1T2X1 or 1Z1X1) experience with operational deployment history. 5+ years of instructional experience in military or federal training environments. Familiarity with Air Force training systems, evaluation protocols, and AETC standards. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Smartsheet. Current CPR, TCCC, and applicable rescue certifications. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Physically capable of performing duties in demanding training environments, including: + Lifting and carrying up to 80 lbs without injury or fatigue.
+ Standing or walking for extended periods (up to 4 hours) in outdoor and field environments.
+ Running, climbing, and maneuvering through uneven or rugged terrain in all weather conditions, day or night.
+ Operating in austere conditions without standard facilities (e.g., restrooms or wash stations).
+ Traveling frequently (up to 50% or more) and operating in government vehicles or military aircraft as required.
+ Typical schedule: 0700-1500, Monday-Friday, with occasional evening or weekend instruction based on training needs.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS



Leadership experience as a Site Lead or in supervisory roles supporting DoD training contracts. Completion of the AETC Special Warfare Instructor Qualification Course (IQC) or equivalent service certification. Advanced operational qualifications and experience in one or more of the following: + Rotary Wing Operations
+ Alternate Insertion and Extraction (AIE) methods (SPIES/FRIES/Fast Rope)
+ Technical Rope Rescue
+ Tactical Vehicle Operations (DAGOT, SXV, MRZR) - valid state driver's license required
+ Tactical Radio and ATAK systems
+ Joint Terminal Attack Controller (JTAC) operations
Medical and Rescue Expertise: + Special Operations Medic, Special Forces Medical Sergeant (18D), or Special Operations Combat Medic.
+ Tactical Medicine and/or Nationally Registered Paramedic certification.
5- or 7-level qualified Pararescueman.
