Tama-Toledo Christian School (TTCS) is a new accredited K-8 independent Christian school launching in August 2025 in Tama, Iowa. Located at 600 Oswego Street in a beautifully renovated 125-year-old former church building, TTCS combines rich heritage with modern learning facilities. Position Summary

The Paraprofessional plays a vital role in supporting the classroom teacher and enhancing student learning across grade levels. At TTCS, paraeducators serve not only as academic support but as Christ-like role models, helping students grow in character, confidence, and connection.

Key Responsibilities

Support individual students and small groups with academic reinforcement under the direction of the classroom teacher Assist in implementing classroom routines and maintaining a well-ordered, nurturing environment Help monitor student behavior with consistency and grace Encourage student independence while offering thoughtful, scaffolded assistance Provide support to English Learners or students receiving academic accommodations Prepare and organize materials as requested by teaching staff Supervise students in various settings (lunch, recess, transitions) Collaborate with faculty and the Administrator to uphold the school's mission Reflect a love for Christ and a servant-hearted attitude in all interactions

Qualifications

High school diploma required; Associate's degree or relevant experience preferred Prior experience working with children in educational settings is valued Patience, reliability, and strong communication skills Professional maturity: calm under pressure, adaptable, and respectful of confidentiality. A heart for children and a desire to see them thrive spiritually and academically Willingness to work under teacher direction and also take initiative when needed Commitment to TTCS's Christian mission and Statement of Faith
