Overview

We are seeking a skilled Painter/Taper to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both residential and commercial painting, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for delivering high-quality finishes. This role involves preparing surfaces, applying paint and finishes, and ensuring that all work meets industry standards. The Painter/Taper will work on various projects, including renovations, restorations, and new constructions.

Duties

Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and filling holes or imperfections. Apply paint, varnish, or other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment. Tape off areas to ensure clean lines and prevent overspray. Read blueprints and schematics to understand project requirements. Perform plastering and caulking as needed for surface preparation. Conduct maintenance tasks related to painting and finishing. Collaborate with other tradespeople on construction sites to ensure project timelines are met. Utilize hand tools and power tools safely and effectively. Assist in fixture installation and frame carpentry as required. Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Skills

Proficient in construction estimating and basic math for accurate measurements. Strong understanding of color theory to select appropriate paint colors. Experience in residential painting, commercial painting, and industrial painting. Familiarity with construction site experience and safety protocols. Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and renovation plans effectively. Knowledge of plastering techniques and caulking applications. Skilled in trim carpentry, frame carpentry, masonry, concrete finishing, and remodeling tasks. Maintenance Person experience is a plus; welding skills are beneficial but not required. Competence in airless paint spraying techniques for efficient application. Pay: $24.11 - $29.03 per hour
