Job Title: Painter

Overview



A Painter is responsible for preparing, priming, and applying paints, stains, and coatings to a variety of surfaces to enhance appearance and protect structures. Painters work on residential, commercial, and industrial projects, ensuring a high-quality finish that meets design specifications and safety standards.



Key Responsibilities



Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, scraping, caulking, patching holes, and repairing cracks.



Mix and match paints, stains, and finishes to achieve desired colors and textures.



Apply paint, varnish, primer, or other coatings using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.



Protect nearby surfaces and furniture with drop cloths, masking tape, or other coverings.



Inspect and maintain painting tools and equipment to ensure proper function and safety.



Follow blueprints, drawings, or written specifications for color and finish details.



Ensure all work meets quality standards, including uniform coverage and proper drying times.



Maintain a clean and organized work area; dispose of hazardous materials safely and in accordance with local regulations.



Communicate with supervisors, clients, and other trades to coordinate job schedules and ensure satisfaction.
