Job Description

Under the direction of the Supervisor of Building Trades, the Painter I performs skilled work in the preparation and painting of wood, metal, sheetrock, concrete and other surfaces on a timely basis. Assists other trades on an as needed basis. Will be required to operate motor equipment, vehicles and perform heavy physical labor. Any other duties as assigned.

The California School for the Deaf (CSDF) is one of 6 State Special Schools under the Deapartment of Education. Located in Fremont, CSDF shares 96 acres with The California School for the Blind, and the Diagnostic Center, North. We are a short walk from BART and have free parking for employees.

Additional Salary Information


Effective July 1, 2025, the California Department of Human Resources (CalHR) implemented the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) directs that each employee shall receive a 3% reduction in pay in exchange for 5 hours PLP leave credit monthly.
