JOB SUMMARY:

OrthoGeorgia is seeking a PACU (Post-Anesthesia Care Unit) Nurse who is responsible for providing high-quality, compassionate care to patients recovering from anesthesia following outpatient surgical procedures. Key duties include monitoring vital signs, managing pain and nausea, ensuring patient safety during recovery, and educating patients and families on post-operative care. The PACU nurse collaborates closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver efficient, patient-centered care in a fast-paced ambulatory setting.

Requirements:

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Georgia Current ACLS certification Previous experience in PACU nursing is optimal

MAJOR JOB DUTIES:

1. Aids in receiving patient from the operating room, monitoring patients' condition and documenting same.

2. . Aids in observing and monitoring patient during post-op period.

3. Assures patients of their safety, provides empathy and comfort to the patient.

4. Communicates with family members as needed.

5. Assists with patient transportation as needed.

6. In an emergency situation, is able to give respiratory assistance or support, including use of an AMBU bag, airways, and endotracheal tubes; can give CPR, activates EMS.

7. Recognizes and utilizes safety precautions and procedures.

8. Remains familiar with equipment and supplies, including function, location and maintenance. Assists in restocking as needed.

9. Knows and maintains Code Blue/crash cart.

10. Maintains a comfortable, orderly, clean, safe work environment.

11. Gives discharge instructions to the patient's appropriate caregiver. Discharges patient when the Patient has met the discharge criteria.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $26.45 - $43.27 per hour
