Wachusett, a subsidiary of Utz Quality Foods, is looking to grow our loyal, career driven, and customer focused team and is currently recruiting for a Packer to work from our manufacturing facility located in Fitchburg, MA. A Packer is responsible for inspecting chip quality and for packing them into boxes and bags. This position works Second Shift: Monday \xe2\x80\x93 Friday from 3:25 PM \xe2\x80\x93 11:55 PM. Key Responsibilities
- Packs bags of chips into cartons.
- Assembles cartons, applies stickers and packs cases according to case specifications while verifying the package quality of finished product.
- Inspects quality of chips and chip packages.
- Examines seasoning on chips after chips are packaged.
- Matches product codes of chips being packaged.
- Verifies weight of packaged chips.
- Repack product merchandise into cartons on sack/tray lines.
- Loads boxes of packaged chips onto skids.
- Performs other tasks which will assist the packaging flow operation such as but not limited to:
- Stickers product items,
- Prepares boxes to be packed (caddies),
- Hand pick chips; and
- Gives lunch and work breaks.
- Responsible for quality and food safety tasks for their position.
- Requires basic reading and math skills.
- Requires knowledge of product quality and basic operations acquired through three months of training. Standing required 100% of the time.
- Ability to communicate production issues to fellow co-workers and supervision.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
