Our brewery and tasting room are in Golden, Colorado, a second taproom is in Greenwood Village, Colorado, and our beers are distributed throughout Colorado, Arizona, Kansas (including Kansas City Metro), Texas, Southern California, and regionally in Wyoming, with regional and national growth in our future.

We are looking to add a Packaging Operator to our Brewing / Production team at our Production Brewery in Golden, Colorado.

Position Summary: The right candidate will join our production team on the packaging side, with opportunities to learn or help with cellar work. They will be responsible for assisting in the operation and basic maintenance on the canning line, cleaning, filling kegs, and performing QA/QC tests on packaged products.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Packaging Operations:

  • Performs packaging operations \xe2\x80\x93 canning, bottling, and kegging.
  • Completes required, regular packaging quality checks (seams on digital seam checker, DO on Anton Paar CBox).
  • Operates and troubleshoots the Wild Goose Filler, Ska De-palletizer, Cody Pak-Tek applicator and labeler, and Hitachi date coder.
  • Converts canning equipment between 12oz and 16oz, according to brewery SOPs.
  • Start up, shuts down, and cleans packaging equipment according to brewery and manufacturer SOP\xe2\x80\x99s.
  • Performs daily maintenance on the packaging line.
  • Work closely with production and facilities to troubleshoot and optimize equipment.
  • Cleans kegs using automated keg cleaner.
  • Enters packaging runs into Ekos (Inventory management software).
Inventory Management and Orders
  • Assists with tracking the inventory of necessary packaging materials for canning and kegging.
  • Works with Management to minimize product loss and package dissolved oxygen levels.
  • Stacks and wraps pallets, builds orders for shipment (along with rest of production team).
  • Loads shipments for delivery (along with rest of production team).
Other Responsibilities Include:
  • Attend and engage in safety training upon hire.

  • Operates a forklift as needed in a safe manner.
  • Follow SOP\xe2\x80\x99s and develop novel SOP\xe2\x80\x99s where they are necessary.
  • Handle dangerous chemicals according to safe practice, SDS, and SOP\xe2\x80\x99s.
  • Maintain safe and effective operation of all associated packaging equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Potential to work with beer transfers, tank cleaning, and other cellaring tasks.

Skills:

Education and Experience Requirements:
  • GED or High school equivalent.
  • This is an entry-level position at the brewery. Additional experience as outlined below would be reflected on the higher end of the wage range.
  • Brewing, Packaging, or related coursework or degree a plus.
  • Forklift experience a plus (will be certified by Holidaily).
  • Packaging line operations (1-2 years), especially on a Wild Goose line a major plus.
  • Prior experience in a cellar or warehouse experience a plus. Craft beer and beverage experience is a major plus.
  • Equipment maintenance/minor repair a major plus.
Physical Standards:
  • Able to stand for prolonged periods of time.
  • Able to stoop, crawl, twist, turn, lift, kneel, climb ladders and stairs.
  • Able to regularly lift/carry 50 pounds.
  • Able to work in indoor and outdoor environments with sometimes slippery floors.
  • Able to twist, bend, kneel, and work in a wet production environment.
  • Able to work in varying degrees of temperatures that is typical for a brewery.
  • Floor surface may vary.
  • Ability to tolerate a high-level work pace that is typical for the food production industry.
  • The noise level in the work environment can be loud.

Full-time

Compensation:

This is an hourly position with a range of $17.00 - $18.00 based upon experience.
