3rd Shift Packaging Machine Operator

JOB SUMMARY

The Packaging Machine Operator (Baler Operator) is responsible for working in a safe, efficient manner to maximize hands-on production and shipping of wood shavings.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

SAFETY + Attend monthly safety meetings
+ Wear PPE as required
+ Attend trainings as needed and complete required testing with sufficient results
PRODUCTION + Operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner producing packaged materials for AWF customers
+ Confers with shift supervisor and follows through with assigned work duties
+ Assist with cleaning up work area
+ Place an empty bag on the fill tube, seal, place in master pack, and hand palletize (up to 40 lbs.)
OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES + Perform outside duties to include sweeping, picking up debris, watering flowers and shrubbery, shoveling snow, and deicing walkways as required
QUALITY + Maintain and verify that all current quality assurance measures are being followed and communicated

QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma or GED Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Physical capability to bend, squat, or stoop Previous mobile equipment and/or forklift preferred

PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS

Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. regularly Ability to respond quickly to sounds Ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces Ability to see and respond to dangerous situations Ability to work in extreme weather Be able to climb stairs and/or ladder to the stacking station areas Ability to wear personal protective gear correctly Candidate MUST be able to work in a smoke-free environment
