We're seeking a dynamic, compassionate, and slightly fun-obsessed professional to bring energy, creativity, and smiles to the amazing seniors of Alpine, CA. You'll be a key player in planning and delivering activities that stimulate the mind, move the body, and warm the heart.
Your Mission (Should You Choose to Accept It):
Plan, organize, and implement fun and meaningful activities tailored to residents' interests and abilities.
Bring joy to the community through music, games, arts and crafts, storytelling, and spontaneous dance parties (optional, but encouraged).
Collaborate with staff to integrate therapeutic goals into recreation programming.
Maintain activity calendars, track attendance, and evaluate program effectiveness.
Provide individualized activities for residents who cannot participate in group settings.
Encourage participation, laughter, and engagement--basically, make someone's day every day.
Qualifications
1+ year of experience working with elderly in social or recreational settings
Certified or willing to be certified as an Activity Coordinator/Director
OR background as an Occupational Therapist, OT Assistant, or Recreational Therapist
Must be able to receive consultation from a licensed OT, OTA, or Rec Therapist
Must love fun. Seriously.
Education
High School Diploma or GED required
Bonus Points For:
Bilingual in English/Spanish/Arabic
Creativity, patience, and a genuine love for people
Ability to moonwalk (okay, not required, but hey--impressive)
Knowledge & Skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to design programs that are inclusive and adapted to various needs
Organizational ninja with excellent time management
Basic knowledge of documentation practices and confidentiality standards
