Duties
Provide overnight assistance to residents or clients, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the night
Monitor vital signs and observe patient conditions closely, documenting any changes accurately
Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts or resident's if applicable
Administer medications following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure compliance and safety
Prepare nutritious meals and snacks aligned with dietary needs, including specialized diets for dementia or Alzheimer's patients
Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and ensuring infection control protocols are followed
Respond promptly to emergency situations by executing CPR or first aid procedures when necessary
Support residents with memory care needs through engaging activities and vigilant observation to prevent wandering or safety hazards
Collaborate with healthcare teams to update care plans and communicate any significant changes in patient status
Use patient monitoring tools to track vital signs and report findings to supervising healthcare professionals
Experience
Candidates should bring a strong background in caregiving roles, ideally with experience in one or more of the following areas: assisted living, nursing homes, home health, hospice care, or group home settings. Prior exposure to working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or dementia is highly valued. Demonstrated proficiency in patient observation, medication administration, and emergency response--such as CPR and first aid certification--is essential. Experience operating equipment like Hoyer lifts or resident's is preferred. A solid understanding of HIPAA regulations ensures confidentiality and professional standards are maintained. Long-term care experience combined with excellent communication skills in social work or nursing enhances your ability to deliver compassionate support tailored to each individual's needs.
