Position Overview:

Raynor Doors of Lexington is seeking a hands-on, motivated

Overhead Door Lead Technician

to help lead our growing team of residential and commercial installers and service technicians. This position will play a key role in establishing the installation department in Louisville -- ensuring all projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to Schiller's high standards of quality and customer satisfaction.

In the early stages of this division's growth, the Team Lead may be directly involved in installations and service work while recruiting, training, and developing a full team of installers and technicians. This is a leadership role that combines technical skill with team coordination and process implementation, offering a unique opportunity to help build a high-performing operation from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Coordination

Lead, support, and mentor a team of installers and technicians across residential and commercial overhead door projects. Coordinate with other Schiller offices to learn and implement existing processes and best practices within the Louisville market. Participate in the recruitment, onboarding, and development of installation and service personnel. Establish clear performance expectations and promote a culture of safety, quality, and accountability. Maintain regular communication with management, sales, and operations teams to ensure alignment on scheduling and customer needs.

Operational & Technical Responsibilities

Perform installations, service calls, and repairs as needed during the early growth phase or when workload requires additional hands-on support. Ensure all installations meet Schiller's quality standards and manufacturer specifications. Train and oversee team members in the use of company software platforms for job tracking, scheduling, and reporting. Troubleshoot technical issues and provide field guidance to technicians. Manage daily jobsite logistics, materials, and time management. Maintain accurate documentation of work completed and materials used.

Process & Continuous Improvement

Collaborate with leadership to identify areas for process improvement and efficiency. Implement standard operating procedures and training programs developed across Schiller offices. Provide feedback on product performance, installation techniques, and field safety practices.

Qualifications:

3+ years of experience in overhead door installation, service, or a related trade (garage doors, dock equipment, access systems). Proven leadership or team coordination experience preferred. Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude; ability to read blueprints and wiring diagrams. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Valid driver's license and clean driving record. Ability to lift 75+ lbs and work safely at heights. Comfortable using and training others on digital platforms or job management software. Self-motivated, dependable, and adaptable to a growing team environment.
