Black Oak Insulation & Gutters is seeking an experienced Insulation Sales Representative to grow and manage contractor relationships across the Middle Tennessee market. This position is primarily B2B and requires a proven sales professional with a strong understanding of insulation products, job pricing, and contractor expectations.
This role is ideal for someone who has sold insulation previously and understands how to work with builders, general contractors, project managers, and remodelers -- from takeoff to close, and through job completion.
Position Summary
The Insulation Sales Representative is responsible for developing contractor accounts, quoting insulation work, closing jobs, and managing the customer relationship through scheduling and production handoff. Success in this role requires strong construction knowledge, responsiveness, accuracy, and the ability to win repeat business.
Schedule
Full-time, Monday-Friday
Occasional Saturdays as needed (based on contractor schedules and job demands)
Key Responsibilities
Build and maintain relationships with builders, general contractors, and remodelers
Manage inbound contractor requests and proactively develop new accounts
Price and quote insulation scopes (fiberglass batts, blown-in, and spray foam as applicable)
Perform takeoffs from plans and specifications when needed
Conduct site visits to verify job conditions, access, scope, and scheduling requirements
Create and present proposals, negotiate pricing, and close work
Coordinate internal handoff to production and ensure scope is clear
Maintain consistent communication with contractors throughout the job lifecycle
Track pipeline, quote activity, and customer notes (CRM or internal system)
Support problem-solving when jobsite changes occur (scope adjustments, scheduling conflicts, etc.)
Required Qualifications
Proven experience selling insulation services (preferred: contractor-based sales)
Strong understanding of insulation systems, materials, and R-value applications
Experience quoting from plans/takeoffs and/or field measurements
Ability to manage multiple contractor relationships and prioritize time-sensitive requests
Strong communication skills and follow-up discipline
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Ability to work in construction environments and walk job sites as needed
Preferred Qualifications
Existing relationships with builders/GCs/remodelers in Middle Tennessee
Experience with fiberglass, blown-in, and spray foam estimating
Familiarity with job costing, margin discipline, and production scheduling
CRM experience and professional quote/proposal process
Knowledge of code requirements, ventilation concepts, and typical builder specs
