Description:

Kinsley Energy Systems is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Outside Sales Manager to sell on-site energy-generating equipment (battery energy storage, prime power/CHP, switchgear, micro-grid, etc.).

The successful candidate will be responsible for generating new business from project developers, engineers, contractors, facility managers, and others developing multifaceted distributed energy projects through the sale of equipment, parts, and service contracts. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in the sales of complex technologies, exceptional communication skills, and a strong desire to build relationships and long-term partnerships with customers.

Outside Sales Manager Responsibilities:

  • Developing new business opportunities and maintaining relationships with existing clients. This includes identifying potential customers, qualifying leads, managing a pipeline forecast, and closing sales
  • Understanding the technical details of distributed energy systems, including CHP, batteries, microgrids, switchgear, and both mechanical and electrical systems. This includes knowledge of the design, installation, and operation of these systems
  • Preparing proposals and presentations for prospective customers, including technical details, pricing, and financing options
  • Developing and implementing sales strategies that leverage the unique benefits of distributed energy systems, including energy savings, reliability, and environmental sustainability
  • Providing ongoing support to customers, including responding to inquiries, troubleshooting issues, and providing training on system operation
Preferred Outside Sales Manager Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor\'s Degree with a firm grasp of reciprocating generators, switchgear, batteries, controls, electrical power systems, and heat recovery processes, grid interconnection requirements, emissions limits and air permitting, and combined heat and power financing and incentive programs
  • Five years\' experience in the sales of complex energy generation technologies
  • Strong desire to meet the customers where they live, build relationships and long-term partnerships
  • Strong analytical skills and the use of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Project required
  • Experience in the effective use of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) databases
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, proficiency in verbal communication in public venue
