DESCRIPTION

The Specialty Oncology Pharmacist Specialist position will be responsible for direct patient care with special emphasis in oncology, within the Department of Pharmacy. Primary duties will include Specialty Oncology Medication Therapy Management (MTM), procurement and prescribing of medications under a collaborative practice agreement. The specialist will serve as a liaison between the Specialty Oncology pharmacy and oncology teams by applying analytical skills to clinical and research information to support patient care.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Doctor of Pharmacy Degree (Pharm D) or equivalent training.
  • One of the following: Successful completion of a PGY2 specialty residency in the area of specialization + one (1) year of relevant practice; Successful completion of a PGY1 pharmacy practice residency + two (2) years of relevant practice; or four (4) years of dedicated practice if there is no advanced pharmacy training.
  • Registered Pharmacist - issued by the state of California (RPH).
  • Board Certification in relevant specialty practice.
  • Must have broad hospital therapeutics and clinical pharmacy expertise.
  • Strong presentation experience.
  • Demonstrated record of committee/team participation.
  • Excellent analytical experience working with clinical data.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of outpatient pharmacy operations.
  • Knowledge of specialty pharmacy.
  • Demonstrated experience in the area of hematology/oncology pharmacy setting.
  • Strong presentation experience.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills and counseling skills.
  • Demonstrated record of committee/team participation.
  • Experience working in a large, complex, healthcare provider organization.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

  • Must be able to work various hours to include weekends, holidays, and overtime based on business needs.
  • Must be willing to rotate to all pharmacy areas/sites.
  • Hours are variable (8 to 10 hours shifts) including weekends and rotating holidays (up to every other), coverage for sick calls and vacation.
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $92,600 - $232,200 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%) Hourly Equivalent: $44.35 - $111.21 Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
