Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Orthodontic Assistant to join our dynamic Orthodontic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in Orthodontic assisting, with specific expertise in orthodontics and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care. As an Orthodontic Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting orthodontic procedures, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining a well-organized clinical environment.

Responsibilities

Assist the orthodontist during various procedures, including the placement and adjustment of brackets and other orthodontic appliances. Prepare treatment rooms by ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are ready for use, adhering to aseptic techniques. Perform chairside assisting duties while maintaining a focus on patient comfort and safety. Take and develop X-rays as required, ensuring compliance with health regulations and safety standards. Document patient information accurately in electronic medical records (EMR) systems, including medical history and treatment plans. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and the importance of following orthodontic instructions for optimal results. Manage inventory of orthodontic supplies, placing orders as necessary to ensure adequate stock levels. Collaborate with the dental receptionist to schedule appointments and manage patient flow effectively.

Requirements

Proven experience in ortho assisting, with specific knowledge of orthodontics preferred. Orthodontic Clinical Assisting:

1 year (Required)

Familiarity with EMR systems such as Edge for efficient patient documentation. Understanding of HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality and data security. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control practices relevant to the clinical setting. Form fantastic relationships with both coworkers and patient/families Previous experience in Orthodontics . Join our team as we strive to create beautiful smiles through expert orthodontic care! Proficient at working with Clear aligners and impressions for other orthodontic appliances, such as retainers both Hawley's and essix as well as class II correction appliances , lower holding arches etc. Be familiar with paperless charting. Knowledge of Edge software a plus

Pay: $25.00 - $29.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 32 per week
