Position Summary:
TRG is seeking an exceptionally skilled, creative full-time Organizational Development Training Consultant to serve as a trusted advisor to our clients and provide organizational development, training, and executive coaching services for clients in the U.S. and throughout the world. Activities include organizational assessment; design and facilitation of strategic planning processes, retreats, and team strengthening activities; training design and delivery; and executive coaching both in virtual and face-to-face contexts. Much of TRG\xe2\x80\x99s work is conducted as part of foreign assistance programs and involves bringing the full range of training, OD, and process skills to international development projects. We often collaborate closely with subject matter experts in such areas as international health, environment, gender, agriculture, education, and post-conflict operations.
Primary Role and Responsibilities:
In both virtual and face-to-face contexts:

  • Collect and analyze data to identify needs for training and organizational development interventions.
  • Design and facilitate retreat, team building programs, knowledge-sharing fora, and strategic planning initiatives.
  • Design and deliver leadership, management and technical training programs.
  • Provide executive coaching.
  • Apply organizational development, training, facilitation, and related skills as part of large-scale international development and technical assistance projects throughout the world.

Qualifications, Abilities, and Education Requirements:
  • Education - Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree or equivalent education/work experience in a related field (i.e., organizational development, adult education, international development, international or multicultural communication, international business, or other related fields).
  • Experience \xe2\x80\x93Five to ten years of full-time work experience as an internal or independent trainer and organizational development practitioner. Experience should include organizational development, management and leadership training using experiential methodology and adult learning principles, training needs assessment, executive coaching, and/or related activities.

Key Skills and Abilities:
  • Demonstrated comfort, confidence, and effectiveness providing OD and training services for diverse client groups in a broad variety of settings in the US and internationally. Likewise, proven ability to provide these services virtually.
  • Extraordinary virtual and face-to-face facilitation skills working effectively with diverse client systems, ensuring discussions meet set objectives within planned timeframes while ensuring participants bring their best selves to the conversation.
  • Ability to listen, absorb, analyze, and synthesize, both orally and in writing, key themes from data gathered in interviews, background documents, and group discussions.
  • Flexibility to craft a customized approach that is entirely focused on the client\xe2\x80\x99s needs and cultural parameters of the assignment, including considerations for virtual approaches.
  • Skilled in applying and appropriately adapting OD models and frameworks, particularly within a variety of cultural and cross-cultural contexts.
  • Interest and ability in building lasting relationships with clients and colleagues \xe2\x80\x93 a natural connector who creates and sustains work opportunities for themselves and others.
  • Genuine curiosity about current and effective approaches to individual, team and organizational development and adult learning, and a demonstrated practice of trying new approaches to ensure clients\xe2\x80\x99 needs are successfully met.
  • Interest in and ability to quickly learn the technical language, key issues, and culture of our client organizations.
  • Strong writing skills and ability to produce deliverables that meet client needs and reflect technical accuracy.
  • Technological fluency in using Power Point, Word, and doing web research effectively. Experience using virtual meeting and learning platforms such as Zoom, RingCentral, WebEx, Adobe Connect Mural, Padlet or others to facilitation OD and training events.
  • Skilled at building and maintaining relationships through virtual communication such as Microsoft Teams, Skype, WhatsApp, as well as other virtual modes of connection.
  • Willingness to travel.

Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Full professional fluency in French or Spanish strongly preferred.
  • Life and/or work experience in developing countries.
  • Familiarity with U.S. government contracting.

Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Occasionally may have to lift up to 15 pounds.
