About the Role:

The Order Picking Associate plays a critical role in the manufacturing supply chain by accurately and efficiently selecting products and materials to fulfill customer orders. This position ensures that all items are picked according to specified quantities and quality standards, directly impacting customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. The associate collaborates closely with warehouse and production teams to maintain organized inventory and timely order processing. Attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols are essential to prevent errors and maintain a safe working environment. Ultimately, this role supports the seamless flow of goods from the manufacturing floor to distribution channels, contributing to the overall success of the company.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to read and interpret order instructions and product labels accurately. Physical capability to stand, walk, lift, and carry items up to 50 pounds throughout the shift. Basic math skills to count and verify order quantities. Prior experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment is preferred but not required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) or inventory software. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy. Experience with safety protocols and compliance in a manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities:

Accurately pick and prepare orders based on work orders, packing lists, or electronic instructions. Verify product codes, quantities, and quality to ensure order accuracy before shipment. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the picking area to promote safety and efficiency. Collaborate with inventory control and shipping departments to report discrepancies or damaged goods. Follow all safety guidelines and company policies to minimize workplace hazards. Assist with inventory counts and stock replenishment as needed.

Skills:

The required skills such as attention to detail and physical stamina are essential for accurately picking and handling products, ensuring orders are fulfilled correctly and efficiently. Basic math and reading skills enable the associate to interpret order instructions and verify quantities, reducing errors. Preferred skills like forklift operation and familiarity with warehouse management systems enhance productivity and safety by allowing the associate to handle equipment and technology effectively. Organizational skills help maintain a clean and orderly workspace, which supports smooth operations and minimizes risks.
