Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Surgical Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting surgical procedures by ensuring a sterile environment, assisting the dental team, and providing exceptional patient care. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, aseptic techniques, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Responsibilities

Assist the dental team during surgical procedures by providing chairside support and maintaining a sterile field. Prepare and organize surgical instruments and materials prior to procedures. Take and record vital signs of patients as needed. Perform X-ray imaging and assist with medical imaging tasks. Maintain accurate medical documentation and medical records for each patient. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols. Utilize dental terminology effectively in communication with patients and staff. Provide assistance in administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing patient flow.

Requirements

Proven experience in dental assisting or surgical assisting within a clinical setting is preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and infection control practices is essential. Ability to perform four-handed dentistry techniques efficiently. Strong understanding of medical documentation processes including medical coding. Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients of all ages. Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
