We are seeking a dynamic and organized Optometry Receptionist to join our healthcare team! Duties



Greet patients warmly and professionally, ensuring a positive first impression Manage patient check-in and check-out procedures with accuracy and efficiency Schedule appointments using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth Verify insurance coverage, process claims, and handle medical billing using ICD-10, CPT coding, and HIPAA-compliant documentation review Maintain and update patient records accurately within various EHR (Electronic Health Record) systems like eClinicalWorks or Dentrix Answer multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette, directing calls appropriately Assist with intake procedures, including collecting medical history and updating patient information Support medical administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and managing medical records in compliance with health information management standards Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure proper documentation of care plans and treatment notes Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient information at all times

Qualifications



Proven experience as a medical receptionist or in a healthcare administrative support role within an optometry or dental clinic environment Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding, CPT coding, and Medicare guidelines Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, Eaglesoft or Dentrix Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and office management software like Eaglesoft or Dentrix Ability to handle insurance verification processes accurately and efficiently Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally in person and over the phone Bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve diverse patient populations Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and filing processes Experience working in a busy medical office setting with front desk responsibilities and multi-line phone systems Knowledge of dental terminology is a plus for clinics that offer integrated eye-dental care services Ability to maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA standards

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
