Founded in 1925 as the Rhode Island Association for the Blind, INSIGHT's mission is to inspire confidence and build skills that help people who are visually impaired and blind to thrive and suceed.

The agency's services include low vision evaluations, independent living skills training, orientation and mobility training, workshops, support groups, recreational activities, and a summer youth camp.

Our low vision clinic has an immediate opening for a part-time, state-licensed Optometrist who has an interest in providing low vision evaluations for older adults. We are seeking someone for a one day per week position, which would include 5 - 7 hours of seeing patients in person and an additional hour of report writing which could be done remotely.

The selected candidate will work with patients to perform examinations, prescribe appropriate low vision aids and devices, and work with the vision rehabilitation staff to provide

IN-SIGHT provides full administrative support for the low vision clinic including appointment scheduling, the collection of referrals and reports, dissemination of visit summary reports, device ordering and inventory tracking, as well as insurance billing and tracking, which will allow the selected candidate to spend the maximum amount of time possible with patients.

Pay: $85.00 - $100.00 per hour
