Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Optometrist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive eye care services, including vision examinations, diagnosis, and treatment of eye disorders. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care and the ability to work collaboratively within a clinical environment. The Optometrist will also be responsible for maintaining accurate medical records and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Duties

Conduct thorough eye examinations to assess visual acuity and diagnose eye conditions. Prescribe corrective lenses and other treatments based on patient needs. Provide pre- and post-operative care for patients undergoing ocular surgeries. Educate patients on proper eye care practices and the use of prescribed treatments. Maintain accurate medical records using EMR and EHR systems while ensuring confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines. Collaborate with ophthalmologists and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care. Stay updated on advancements in optometry, including new technologies and treatment methods. Perform routine tests such as measuring vital signs, assessing ocular health, and utilizing aseptic techniques during procedures.

Skills

Strong knowledge of ophthalmology and optical experience. Proficiency in pediatrics, ensuring effective communication with children and their guardians. Excellent patient care skills, demonstrating empathy and understanding towards patients' needs. Solid understanding of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, medical coding, and the management of medical records. Familiarity with EMR and EHR systems for efficient documentation of patient information. Exceptional customer service skills to enhance patient satisfaction and experience. Sales skills to effectively recommend products such as eyewear or contact lenses based on patient needs.
