Northern Montana Hospital (NMH) is the center of a comprehensive system of medical and health care services, staffed with a team of caring professionals who are dedicated to meeting the growing needs of our Hi-Line communities. The not-for-profit, 25-bed Critical Access Hospital features a 24-hour physician-staffed emergency department, with state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging and electronic medical record services. Our large, quiet labor/birthing rooms are private and located away from other patient care areas. The private patient rooms on the 5th floor Medical/Surgical Department boast views from every window.

About the role




We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Optometrist to join our growing team at Northern Montana Specialty Medical Center, a Rural Health Clinic located in Havre, MT. The ideal candidate will provide thorough eye exams, diagnose and manage ocular diseases, prescribe corrective lenses, and educate patients on overall eye health. This role is crucial in ensuring access to high-quality eye care for our rural community.

What you'll do



Conduct comprehensive eye exams for patients of all ages. Diagnose and manage common eye conditions (e.g., glaucoma, cataracts, dry eye). Prescribe eyeglasses and contact lenses. Maintain accurate patient records and comply with legal/regulatory standards. Educate patients on eye health, preventive care, and treatment options. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals.

Qualifications



Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited school. Active Montana optometry license. Strong diagnostic and clinical skills. Excellent communication skills. Commitment to serving underserved populations. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.


Salary is commensurate with up to 15 years experience.
