Duties

Greet patients warmly and assist with the intake process, including collecting medical history and verifying insurance information Prepare patients for eye examinations by performing preliminary tests like visual acuity assessments and autorefractor measurements Assist the optometrist during exams by setting up equipment, maintaining aseptic technique, and ensuring proper sterilization of tools Manage medical records accurately using electronic health record (EHR) systems ensuring HIPAA compliance at all times Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment, adhering to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques throughout all procedures

Experience

Prior experience in medical office settings is highly preferred Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology related to the eye, and ophthalmic procedures is essential Familiarity with EMR systems is a strong advantage Experience with patient care activities including vital signs collection and intake procedures is desirable Retail sales experience combined with strong math skills enhances ability to assist patients with optical product selections Understanding of HIPAA regulations ensures confidentiality and proper handling of medical records

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
