After years of clinical practice in North Charlotte, Dr. Bonnie Chen founded The Vision Loft with the mission of delivering exceptional, personalized vision care tailored to each patient's lifestyle and visual-health needs.

We are seeking a professional, detail-oriented

Optometric Technician

to join our team and support both clinical and front-office operations.

Responsibilities



Clinical Intake & Documentation



Conduct patient interviews and document RFV, medical history, and family history. Neutralize patients' current glasses for documentation. Request and obtain outside medical records to ensure complete charts. Support smooth patient flow by coordinating with team members and providers. Prepare referrals, excuse notes, prescriptions for provider signatures, and consultation letters.

Pre-Testing & Special Testing



Pre-Testing I:

auto-refraction, lensometry, tonometry, topography.

Pre-Testing II:

visual acuities, preliminary case history, phoropter setup, color vision testing, eye drop instillation.

Special Testing:

visual fields, fundus photography, slit lamp photography.

Contact Lens Support



Assist with contact lens training (insertion and removal). Process and receive contact lens orders; notify patients of delays. Contact patients regarding unclaimed contact lens orders (30+ days).

Inventory & Equipment



Manage contact lens trial inventory and exam room supplies. Verify stock levels and recommend disposal of expired items. Disinfect and maintain all equipment and instruments. Assist with opening and closing exam rooms and special testing equipment.

Patient Care & Front Desk Support



Assist the doctor with the examination and scribe as necessary. Greet patients and assist with check-in and check-out. Schedule appointments and update patient records. Process patient information in the EMR system and help maintain efficient reception and exam-room workflow. Maintain patient waiting areas.
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
