Job Title: Optometric Technician
Job Category: Full Time
Anticipated Hours: 40 hours per week, 1 Saturday morning per month. No Saturdays in the summer.

: Modern medical optometry office seeks technician to aid in pre-testing patients for eye exams. We are opening to interviewing candidates with zero experience, but strongest candidate will also have an Optician background and be able to assist in optical to style glasses, check in glasses in manual lensometer, and adjust glasses.

Our office is open 2 Saturdays a month (no summers) and we have a rotating Saturday schedule. Each staff member is expected to work 1 Saturday per month. This is a full time position (40 hours per week), so prompt & consistent job attendance is required.

Primary Duties:
Assist doctor in reviewing health history and pre-testing patients, working with Revolution EHR
Run eye diagnostic machinery, such as Visual Field, OCT, optomap Review current glasses using a manual lensometer Educate patients on proper contact lens insertion and handling. Technician must learn hard contact insertion and removal techniques for scleral lenses and moon lenses
Secondary Duties:

Work with optician to complete glasses orders & order jobs as needed Be a backup for answering phones, scheduling appointments and fielding incoming calls, especially during rotating lunch breaks.
*Work with front desk in downtime (between patients or in no-show situation to verify insurance benefits and submit simple insurance claims.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
