A successful applicant will be attentive to customer service and patient care . The purpose of this role is to assist in pretesting each patient prior to their eye exam. In addition to interpersonal skills, the ideal candidate will be able to effectively communicate with patients in order to provide the best patient care experience. Successful candidates will be expected to learn our electronic health records, learn how to use the speciality testing equipment in the office, and assist the doctor in keeping an efficient schedule for the office . The optometric technician will also teach the patient how to properly care and insert contact lenses. We can teach the technical skills, but more than anything else, this the ideal candidate will be friendly and courteous toward all patients in the office. The schedule we are looking to fill is Tuesdays 9:30-4, Wed-Friday 10-5 and Saturdays 9:00-1:30.

Duties
Greet patients warmly and assist with the intake process, including collecting medical histories and verifying insurance information
Prepare patients for eye exams by conducting preliminary tests and ensuring proper positioning for accurate assessments
Maintain accurate medical records by updating electronic health records (EHR) systems while adhering to HIPAA privacy standards
Help manage front desk responsibilities including appointment scheduling, patient check-in/out.
Support billing and coding processes related to medical records and insurance claims, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations
Skills
Knowledge of ophthalmology procedures, anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology to assist clinicians effectively
Experience with EMR systems for documentation and record management
Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality at all times
Excellent computer skills to help navigate all the technology in the office
Excellent organizational skills for managing medical records, scheduling appointments, and handling front desk operations
