We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optometric Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional support to our optometrists and deliver outstanding care to our patients. This role involves a mix of patient interaction, technical skills, and administrative tasks. Must be willing to travel between our Centerville and Sandy locations.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet and prepare patients for eye exams, obtaining medical history and other relevant information.
Perform preliminary tests, including color vision, stereo, autorefraction, and lensometry.
Assist with contact lens fittings and provide patient education on lens care.
Operate and maintain diagnostic equipment, such as retinal camera and corneal topographer.
Support the optometrist during examinations and procedures as needed.
Ensure exam rooms and equipment are clean and properly maintained.
Process patient information accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
Assist with administrative duties, such as scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, and answering patient inquiries.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (required)
Previous experience as an optometric or medical technician is a plus, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
Proficiency with EHR systems and basic computer skills.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
