Responsibilities:

As our Optician, your role will be crucial in delivering personalized care to our valued patients. Duties include, but are not limited to:

Optical Expertise:

Guide patients through frame selection, educate on lens options, and recommend coatings tailored to their needs. Conduct frame dispensing and adjustments with finesse.
Precision in Optical Measurements:

Measure and order single vision, bifocal, and progressive glasses prescriptions. Demonstrate proficiency in lensometry.
Contact Lens Expertise:

Order Contact lens trials and provide hands-on training for new contact lens insertion and removal.
Patient-Centric Administrative Tasks:

Answer phones, schedule appointments, and verify insurance information. Efficiently handle patient check-in and check-out, including vision insurance claims.
Clinical Support:

Assist in receiving and preparing patients for their appointments with the doctor. Conduct diagnostic tests to support the medical optometry practice.
Workspace Maintenance:

Uphold a clean and organized office work area.

Experience



Previous experience working as an optician or in an optical retail environment for a minimum 6 months; familiarity with optical experience enhances service quality Knowledge of ophthalmology principles, medical terminology related to eye health, and physiology of the visual system is essential for effective patient communication Experience with laboratory work involving lens fabrication or adjustments is advantageous but not mandatory. Demonstrated ability to utilize EMR systems such as RevolutionEHR or other electronic health record platforms for documentation and billing purposes Understanding of HIPAA regulations ensures compliance with patient privacy standards during all clinical activities Experience working with diverse populations--including pediatrics and senior care--will support comprehensive patient-centered care
Pay: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
