Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optician/Apprentice Optician to join our optical team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in advancing their career within the optical field. Prior retail sales or management experience is a plus, along with familiarity with EHR systems and HIPAA compliance. This position involves working closely with patients of all ages including children to assist with eyewear selection, measurements, and patient education.

Duties

Assist patients in selecting eyewear based on their prescriptions and personal preferences Take precise measurements for lenses and frames, ensuring optimal fit and comfort Educate patients on lens options, lens care, and proper eyewear maintenance Manage retail sales transactions, including processing payments and managing inventory Entering orders into EHR accurately and co-ordinate with optical labs for fabrication of lenses Operate optical lab equipment for lens quality control and frame adjustments Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality Occasional contact lens insertion and removal training for patients

Requirements

Experience in optical is preferred but not required Excellent communication skills for patient interaction and team collaboration Retail sales or management experience can be beneficial A commitment to providing compassionate patient care and maintaining high standards of professionalism

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36.0 - 40.0 per week
