We are looking for an optician to join our family owned private optometry practice in Cheyenne, WY. We are seeking candidates who are dependable and have excellent customer service skills. Candidate must be highly motivated, well organized and have exceptional attention to detail. Experience is appreciated, but not required. In-office training will be provided. Major Responsibilities:
Assists customers in choosing the most appropriate eyeglass frame, lens type, and lens features
Prepares orders for the ordering and fabrication of the eye-wear so the lab can prepare, grind, edge, and insert lenses into the frames
Processes and submits eyewear orders accurately to the labs
Inspects all finished eyewear to make sure the prescription has been filled correctly and there are no defects present, follows up with lab if necessary
Dispenses finished glasses to the patient / customer, making sure that they fit, are comfortable and that patient satisfaction has been achieved
Adjusts frames for the patient / customer who has come in for realignment/adjustment
Must be able to multitask by handling multiple patients in a businesslike and professional manner
Be able to price and bill vision insurance plans
Must have a pleasant, clear-speaking voice and a neat professional appearance
Answering phones and scheduling patients when the need arises
