Duties



Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and assist with intake procedures to ensure accurate medical records. Prepare patients for eye examinations by performing preliminary tests and collecting relevant medical history Assist with optical procedures including frame fitting, lens selection, and adjustments to enhance patient satisfaction Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient confidentiality and handling medical records securely Conduct optical inventory management, retail sales of eyewear products, and perform retail math calculations for transactions Uphold aseptic techniques during clinical procedures to ensure a safe environment for both patients and staff Educate patients on eye health, medication usage, and proper contact lens care to promote ongoing wellness

Requirements



Prior experience in optical or optometric settings is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology related to eye health and vision care Ability to perform intake assessments, take vital signs, and follow aseptic techniques diligently Excellent patient care skills with a friendly, professional demeanor that puts patients at ease Basic retail sales experience combined with retail math skills to manage eyewear transactions effectively Knowledge of medical billing and coding processes related to optometry services is advantageous Familiarity with pediatric patient care (pediatrics) is desirable for serving diverse patient populations Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a busy clinic environment
