This Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Optical Engineer to join our team and lead the design, development, and testing of advanced optical systems. As an optical engineer, you will be responsible for the design and optimization of complex optical systems using sequential and non-sequential ray tracing. You will work closely with other engineers and technicians to design and develop cutting-edge optical systems.
Your Impact Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and optimize advanced optical systems using sequential and non-sequential ray tracing software.
  • Conduct experiments and analyze data using interferometry techniques.
  • Develop and test LIDAR systems for applications in autonomous vehicles, aerospace, and other industries.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that optical systems meet performance and cost requirements.
  • Conduct technical reviews and provide guidance to other engineers on optical design and analysis.
  • Keep up to date with advances in optical technology and identify opportunities for improvement in our products.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Optical Engineering, Physics, or related field
  • 4+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience
  • Familiarity with optical testing and measurement techniques.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Experience in modeling and simulation of optical systems using tools such as MATLAB or Python
  • Some experience in sequential and non-sequential ray tracing software such as Zemax, FRED and OSLO.

Preferred:
  • Master\'s or Ph.D. in Optical Engineering, Physics, or related field
  • 8+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience
  • Strong experience in sequential and non-sequential ray tracing software such as Zemax, FRED and OSLO.
  • Experience in interferometry techniques and applications, including the use of interferometers in optical metrology and remote sensing.
  • Familiarity with LIDAR systems and related technologies used in topographic mapping.
  • Active security clearance or ability to obtain security clearance.
