Position Summary

The Work You Will Do

Works with Agency staff (stakeholders) to determine business needs that require an IT solution including but not limited to development of new systems and enhancements to existing systems.





Formulates and reviews plans outlining steps required to develop programs to meet staff and user requirements. Devises flow charts and/or diagrams to illustrate steps and to describe logical operational steps of programs and systems. Liaises between stakeholders and developers on system enhancements and new development. Assists with the development of training materials, job aids and procedures.





Develops and maintains project documentation in accord with F.S., F.A.C, and APD Policies & Procedures and IT Project Management Office (PMO). This includes use of approved templates and project schedules.





Writes and revises program and system design procedures, test procedures, and quality standards. Analyzes and tests computer programs or systems to identify errors and ensure conformance to standards.





Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or its equivalent.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

Knowledge of:


Project Management.



Broad IT (Infrastructure, Development, and Operations/Support).



Process Mapping/Automation.



State Government Operations.



Laws/regulations governing protected health and safety information.

Ability to:


Translate Business Requirements to Technical Requirements.



Effectively communicate with internal and external customers, as well as executive management.

As a condition of employment, a person appointed to a position in the State Personnel System is required to participate in the Direct Deposit Program. Rather than receiving a paper paycheck, your funds will be deposited directly into your account at your financial institution. This will be accomplished by Electronic Funds Transfer. Banks, savings and loan associations, and credit unions are eligible to accept such deposits. Retirement funds are also required to be in the Direct Deposit Program.

Background Screening Requirement

It is the policy of the Florida Agency for Persons with Disabilities that applicants for employment undergo Level 2 employment screening in accordance with the requirements of Chapter 435, Florida Statutes, as a condition of employment or being permitted to serve as a volunteer.
