Ophthalmic Assistant/Tester

General : The Ophthalmic Assistant/Tester assists the Ophthalmologist with providing patient testing & care in a highly professional manner.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Performing diagnostic eye tests per practice protocol, including vision screenings, manual refractions, and various diagnostic tests as needed such as Optos, etc. Facilitating the flow of patients when assigned that role (requires an ability to anticipate the flow of patient traffic). Must be able to e-prescribe and handle prior authorizations for medications. Must have great phone etiquette. Must be able to perform highly accurate manual refractions in a timely manner Must be proficient in glaucoma testing, visual fields, fundus photos, and topography. IOL experience a plus! Must be accurate and detail-oriented while being able to keep ahead of the patient flow and still demonstrate flexibility and the ability to multi-task when necessary. EMR experience is required, must possess a level of computer literacy that ensures accuracy and timeliness when working with patients. Must possess outstanding interpersonal skills-Ability to guide and instruct patients. Must be able to work well with coworkers and physicians in a team environment Must be reliable, have great attendance and transportation.
Requirements:

High School diploma or equivalent Minimum 2 years of experience as an ophthalmic technician, ophthalmic assistant, or optometric technician

This is a full-time position, Monday thru Thursday 8am-5pm, Friday 8am-4pm. No weekends or holidays.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $22.00 per hour
