Not many people can say they played a role in making parts for spaceships, airplanes, medical devices such as pacemakers, and so much more! You can be one of the few as an Operator/Project Assistant at Solar Atmospheres in Hermitage, PA!





In this position, you'll rotate through key tasks like furnace operation and small parts assembly all while helping us deliver top-notch results for our customers.





We currently have a position available on our 1st Shift: Monday-Friday, 7 AM - 3:30 PM

What you'll do

You probably don't like being micromanaged which is good because we don't like to micromanage. As an Operator/Project Assistant, you'll work independently, owning your projects from start to finish. You'll enjoy variety as you move between departments, supporting projects that keep production running smoothly. While every day might be a little different, you can expect to do the following:
+ Set up, plan, and change out furnace loads, plus packing + Operating furnaces and other shop equipment scales, cranes, and forklifts.
+ Maintain cleanliness and orderly work area
+ Follow shop work instructions and complete all customer labeling/packaging requirements
+ Weighing, counting, cleaning, stacking, lifting {S0#'s)
+ Work efficiently while ensuring company quality standards are maintained
+ Perform other duties as assigned. May require OT on occasion

What you need to thrive in this role

+ High School Diploma or GED + Reliable, organized and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
+ Prior manufacturing or production experience with furnace or heat-treating familiarity preferred
+ Able to lift, bend, reach and stand on a daily basis and for period of time
+ Ability to read and comprehend work instructions in English
+ Ability to multitask, prioritize work and overcome obstacles to obtain positive results
