Position Overview:


The Process Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient, and environmentally compliant operation of a chemical processing unit. The operator will monitor and control process equipment, ensure adherence to production schedules and safety standards, and respond to abnormal conditions. The position demands strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Operators must be able to perform physically demanding tasks, wear required PPE, and work a 12-hour rotating DuPont shift schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays.

What you will be doing:

Operate and monitor plant systems, equipment, and process controls Perform inspections, troubleshoot abnormalities, and respond to alarms Complete logbooks, reports, and routine documentation accurately Assist with maintenance coordination and unit startups/shutdowns Participate in monthly safety meetings and follow all site safety policies Wear and maintain required PPE including respirators and chemical suits Handle hoses, open and close valves, and carry equipment as needed Work outdoors in hot, humid, or noisy conditions Climb stairs and ladders, and walk extended distances across the facility Support a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED required Basic knowledge of PCS/PLC systems, math, and computer operations Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills Valid TWIC card or ability to obtain one is required Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs and climb up to 30' ladders Ability to wear full PPE and work in physically demanding environments Willing and able to work 12-hour rotating shifts including nights and weekends Process Technology degree or industrial plant experience strongly preferred
