Hourly Pay Range: $17.78

The position (K0232236)


The Kansas Department of Health and Environment has an Operations Support Specialist opening in Topeka. The incumbent in this role will operate specialized data entry equipment to enter data from a variety of source documents.

Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:




Work involves simple analysis of data; ensuring correct transfer of data from source data to the database. Interpret and resolve moderately complex problems involving incomplete or illegible source data. Perform other task as assigned related to database corrections.


Assist the Program Consultant with reviewing documentation submitted by the DCF liaison and become the point person in the event of any absences. Exercise independent judgment in accepting or rejecting the requests, correspond with DCF liaison daily and forwards cases to the Certification Chief for further investigation of possible fraudulent activity if needed.

Qualifications



Education

: + High School, GED

Licensing & Certification:

+ Valid Driver's License - Incumbent is required to have and maintain a valid driver's license when operating a state vehicle, a private vehicle, or a rental vehicle for the benefit of the State.

Minimum Qualifications:

+ Two years of experience in general office, clerical and administrative support work. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency.

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access
+ Proofreading, editing, attention to detail
+ 10-Key
+ Customer Service skills
+ Typing, Alpha/Numeric Data Entry
+ Phone Skills
+ Experience with confidential information and the ability to work independently
+ Strong interpersonal skills, written communication skills
+ Six months of experience at an advanced level in support/clerical work
