Job Description

Position Summary:


The ReStore Operations Manager follows the lead of the Store Mgr in daily operations with the passion and ownership of a small-business entrepreneur. This role ensures that all warehouse, logistics, sales floor, and customer service activities run safely, efficiently, and profitably. The Operations Manager models exceptional service, operational excellence, and a commitment to Habitat's mission of building homes, communities, and hope. Excel in practicing and teaching our FDF model.

Key Responsibilities



Operations & Warehouse Management



Oversee daily receiving, sorting, and processing of donations. Operate and maintain all ReStore vehicles, forklifts, and material-handling equipment in compliance with safety standards. Schedule and coordinate donation pickups and deliveries. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse, back dock, and sales floor environment. Supervise staging, pricing, and display of merchandise to ensure consistent quality and value.

Retail Sales & Customer Service



Lead by example in providing outstanding customer service and donor relations. Train staff and volunteers on best practices for front-of-house sales, register operation, and merchandising. Engage directly with customers and donors, handling escalations or issues promptly and professionally. Foster a welcoming, mission-driven atmosphere throughout the store.

Leadership & Team Development



Supervise staff and volunteers, including hiring, scheduling, training, and performance management. Promote teamwork, accountability, and pride in ReStore's mission and community impact. Work collaboratively with the Store Manager and leadership team on long-term strategy and performance goals.

Business & Financial Management



Monitor daily sales, expenses, and donation trends; help set and achieve revenue targets. Ensure accurate pricing, inventory management, and cash-handling procedures. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, expand donation sources, and grow customer engagement.

Safety, Compliance, and Maintenance



Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and Habitat safety protocols. Oversee maintenance of vehicles, equipment, and facilities. Conduct regular inspections and ensure timely corrective actions.

Physically



Able to lift #75 repetitively and handle extreme heat, cold, and wet conditions.

Must not be physically/medically hindered from performing all duties.

Help perform daily cleaning.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications



Minimum 5 years of experience in retail, warehouse, thrift, and/or logistics management. Excellent MS Office, Google Workspace, Dropbox, & Canva skills. Proven ability to lead and motivate teams in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. Valid driver's license and ability to operate box trucks, forklifts, and other warehouse equipment safely. Strong organizational and multitasking skills. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal abilities. Commitment to Habitat for Humanity's mission and community service values. Mission-essential keyholder, responsible for opening and closing the facility, ensuring security, and representing Habitat for Humanity's values and standards at all times.
