The Operations Manager provides leadership and oversight of higher education institution operations, ensuring alignment between administrative policies, executive direction, and daily execution. This role is critical to ensure smooth campus operations, strong cross-department coordination, and consistent adherence to administration's policies and procedures across admissions, academics, financial aid, student services, and student success functions.
The ideal candidate is a proactive, hands-on leader with strong operational judgment, experience in streamlining operations, and a commitment to delivering an exceptional, student-centered experience. Flexibility to support day and evening operations is required.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure administrative policies, procedures, and institutional standards are consistently followed across all departments
Serve as the operational bridge between executive leadership and department managers
Identify workflow gaps, inefficiencies, or breakdowns and implement corrective action plans
Track operational performance metrics and support continuous improvement initiatives
Assist with and lead resolution of escalated student service or operational issues
Ensure Student Success Team effectiveness in supporting retention, student assistance, persistence, and on-time graduation initiatives
Ensure operational practices promote a positive, supportive, and student-centered experience
Identify and address operational barriers that may impact student engagement, satisfaction, or outcomes
Oversee and monitor daily operations to ensure continuity of services for day and evening students
Support departmental staffing coverage, scheduling, and operational readiness
Provide coaching, guidance, and accountability to staff and managers as needed
Promote a culture of professionalism, ownership, accountability, and educational and service excellence
Support institutional readiness for audits, reviews, evaluations, and internal assessments
Ensure documentation, records, and operational practices align with institutional requirements
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required (Master's preferred)
At least five (5) years of demonstrated, verifiable experience leading operations in an Operations Manager or equivalent management role
Operations or management experience (higher education preferred)
Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Ability to effectively use technology, including AI, student information systems (SIS), learning management systems (LMS), CRM platforms, and Microsoft Office or Google Workspace tools
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft professional emails, reports, procedures, and internal documentation
Ability to analyze data, track performance metrics, and support operational decision-making
High level of professionalism, discretion, and accountability
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Ability and willingness to work day and evening hours as operational needs require
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
